Kentucky is officially the 22nd state that passed a law to prohibit state companies from boycotting Israel. Rep. Andy Barr said that he and his colleagues condemned the entire BDS movement. Furthermore, he added that they sent a letter to OFAC (The Office of Foreign Assets Control) asking for an update on the organizations that were practicing anti-Semitic hate against people from Israel as well as Jewish people across the globe.
The BDS movement is a campaign led by Palestinians, and they are promoting different forms of boycotting Israel.
This legislation codified into law the order that Governor Matt Bevin signed the last November. The idea is to prohibit any rewarding for state contractors who take part in any form of anti-Israel movement.
