This year’s Kentucky Derby will include the artist Rhonda McEnroe. She has been in the business since 1979. Read more details on this prolific artist here.
Rhonda McEnroe Is the Newest Edition to the Kentucky Derby
Rhonda McEnroe owns the Enroe Studio. She is a self-taught artist who will participate at the 145th Running for the Roses at the 2019 Kentucky Derby. Also, she is an instructor and designer. McEnroe recollected about the official call she received from Churchill Downs. Namely, he contacted her on her birthday to confirm that she was selected as an artist for the Kentucky Derby.
She seemed enthusiastic when talking about this honor and a chance to get involved as an artist at this event. Due to it, she met a lot of people when she signed posters. McEnroe reminisced about the inspirations that encouraged her to paint from a young age. And she even mentioned how she started her career back in 1979.
McEnroe’s Professional Career
What’s more, McEnroe’s career took off in 1979, as she released a line of limited edition prints. That was enough to make others perceive her as a skilled watercolorist. A wide range of print collectors started admiring her. For this reason, she did not focus only on the print market. To be specific, she progressed to creating fine art originals. And Rhonda made these for corporate and private collectors. Some of these are Humana Hospital, Forbes Magazine, and Stryker Corporation.
If we were to use one word to describe her art, it would be “prolific.” This is because she declines to be characterized by only one medium or technique. When it comes to the latter, they range from acrylics, impressionistic pastels and watercolors to oils. And she utilizes mixed media for all custom-designed canvases. These are usually large and abstract.
Furthermore, she is successful in expressing the heart and soul of her art with each subject. It seems that Rhonda always tells a story while painting. Her faith has grown at the same time as her art has. Her paintings remind the viewers of the following things: healing, life, color, and light. Through the use of her natural talent, McEnroe is able to share her spirituality and optimism with those around her. In fact, those who were present while she was creating something new often used the word “love” to describe what they felt.
